Who We Are

Our mission is to eliminate Alzheimer's disease through the advancement of research; to provide and enhance care and support for all affected; and to reduce the risk of dementia through the promotion of brain health.

What We Do

The Alzheimer's Association, Maine Chapter serves the entire state of Maine from our Scarborough Office. We estimate that there are 28,000 people in Maine aged 65 and older living with Alzheimer's disease and an estimated 69,000 Alzheimer's and dementia caregivers providing 79,000,000 hours of unpaid care. The Maine Chapter is a tax-exempt, 501(c) (3) nonprofit, donor supported organization. Programs and services are made possible through contributions from individuals, corporations and foundations. Millions of Americans are impacted by Alzheimer’s disease, and you can do something to help by becoming an Alzheimer’s Association® volunteer. Our ability to reach and support those affected depends on people like you who are dedicated to the fight against this disease. As an Association volunteer, you can use your unique talents to make a meaningful impact in your community while connecting with others who share your passion.
