Age Friendly Saco

We collaborate with other organizations publicizing and facilitating services, such as weatherization services with Habitat.We provide free assistance with supplemental healthcare plans to Medicare and drug insurane options. Call 450-8220 for this assistance.We deliver sand buckets for seniors in collaboration with Saco Public Works Department.Located at Saco Community Center and in collaboration with Saco Parks and Rec maintain a multi-generational garden. Produce is used to serve a harvest dinner for all those who participated.We initiated access to Bayview Beach for those with mobility issues with a grant from AARP and in collaboration with Saco Parks and Rec. Also the Saco Rotary Organization donated an adapted wheelchair and walker which can be loaned for use while at the beach.

Age Friendly Saco’s mission, “ A Community for a Lifetime”, is to promote active aging by optimizing opportunities for health, engagement, and safety while removing barriers that prevent our citizens from remaining in their homes as they age. This will be accomplished through engagement with community organizations as well as collaboration with the City of Saco and the recruitment of community volunteers for the delivery of services that will empower residents to remain in and engaged in their community.
