Sanford Trails Committee maintains 18 miles of trails in Sanford and Springvale. We serve a variety of kinds of trail users - cyclists, walkers, motorized riders, horseback riders, skiers, geocachers. Our most popular trails are the Mousam Way footpath and the multi-purpose Rail Trail. We organize a volunteer Trail Adopter program and host an annual Springvale Farm Walk. We also work cooperatively with other trails groups, such as the Kiwanis Mousam Way Committee, Sanford Active Communities Environment Team, Southern Maine Sno-goers snowmobile club and Mousam Way Land Trust. We also publish a Sanford Trails Map & Guide.
What We Do
Sanford Trails Committee is a group of volunteers dedicated to making the Sanford Trails system the best in the State of Maine. We receive $10,000 yearly funding from the Sanford city government and we leverage that funding with grants, managing the town's timberlands and seeking sponsorships. We meet monthly in the third-floor conference room at Sanford City Hall Annex to plan activities.
