Who We Are

St. Louis CDC is a state licensed and nationally accredited (NAEYC) facility that provides children three to eight with developmentally appropriate child care while thier parents work or attend school. The center is licensed for 100 children and operates for 50 weeks a year from 6:30 AM to 5:30 PM Monday through Friday. St. Louis CDC is located at 116 Hill Street in Biddeford. St. Louis CDC provides a range of services focused on nurturing children and supporting the family. The Maine Department of Health and Human Services contracts with St. Louis CDC to provide subsidized care for children from low to moderate-income families. St. Louis CDC works in collaboration with the with the Department of Health and Human Services, DHHS Child Protective Unit, Department of Behavioral and Developmental Services, Child Development Services of York County and the University of Maine Center for Community Inclusion to provide a broad range of early intervention services for young children with special needs. All children attending St. Louis CDC receive a nutritionally balanced breakfast, lunch and snack at no additional cost to the family. This is made possible by a contract with the DHHS Child and Adult Care Food Program. In 2004 the center served a total of 33,919 meals.

St. Louis Child Development Center is committed to providing a quality learning experience by supporting all areas of the child's development. St. Louis CDC is a place where children and childhood are celebrated. Development of self-esteem and self-expression are key elements of the early childhood experience at St. Louis. St. Louis Child Development Center has been providing quality child care for families in the Biddeford/Saco area for 35 years. St. Louis CDC is one of thirty programs operated by Catholic Charities Maine.
