Who We Are

Camp Sunshine is a free, year-round retreat for families with children with life-threatening illnesses. It’s a community where families find hope, connection, and belonging. At no cost to them, we welcome families from all over the world. To date, we’ve hosted families from 50 states and 27 different countries to step away from daily challenges and immerse themselves in new experiences. Through engaging activities, often giving children the opportunity to try something for the first time, and meaningful conversations among parents who genuinely understand one another’s journeys, Camp Sunshine fosters lifelong friendships and creates lasting, transformative memories.

What We Do

Camp Sunshine provides a one-of-a-kind experience for children with life-threatening illnesses and their families, and we also provide a one-of-a-kind experience for our amazing team of volunteers. Here, families and volunteers, alike, find hope and joy in this uplifting community. Camp Sunshine wouldn't be possible without our incredible team of volunteers, who dedicate their time to being an integral part of our camp family. As a volunteer, your time commitment allows us to continue to offer this unique experience to families from around the world free of charge. We welcome volunteers starting at 16 years old, of all abilities, and interests! From leading activities, to playing on the lake, ice skating in the winter, doing arts and crafts, cooking in the kitchen, and more, there's something for everyone who wants to volunteer. Housing and all meals are provided by Camp Sunshine during the session. A weeklong volunteer commitment comes with full days, but we provide shared housing accommodations for volunteers and private housing for families to stay on our beautiful campus on Sebago Lake.

We can't do what we do without passionate volunteers like you! Whether you're looking to serve individually, with a club, or through a service program, there's a place for everyone at Camp!
