Spurwink

Who We Are

MISSION Spurwink provides behavioral health and education services for children, adults and families.

VISION OF SUCCESS Children, adults and families affected by behavioral health challenges and developmental disabilities living healthy, engaged lives in their communities. We began with one house in Portland, Maine. Today, Spurwink has 37 active homes serving children, and another 18 homes serving its adult program. Starting with a handful of employees, Spurwink today draws much of its strength from its nearly 1,200 employees. Our values remain the same. They are the cornerstone of what we do and how we deliver services: Developing positive self regard in those we serve by honoring and respecting who they are, and then building upon the strengths of the individual and the family.

What We Do

Spurwink responds to community needs by providing behavioral health care, substance use disorder treatment, educational services, and individualized supports for people of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds, and their families. Through community-based, residential, and educational programs, we help people build on their strengths, overcome challenges, and lead engaged, connected, and meaningful lives in their communities. Our work is grounded in compassion, evidence-based practices, and a commitment to ensuring that every person feels respected, supported, and valued.
