Volunteer: Invasive Plant Pull

Join York Land Trust learn to confidently identify and remove two notoriously aggressive invasive plant species: multiflora rose and glossy buckhorn. These two plant species are opportunists who can be seen everywhere from roadsides and backyards to forests and fields. How did they get here and why do they need to be removed? Join us and learn more during this active, hands-on event!
Participants should come prepared wearing work gloves, closed-toed shoes, long sleeves and pants, and shoes suitable for hiking. Bring water and layers as needed. Tools and materials will be provided. Meet at the YLT office, and we will carpool to a limited access property off of Mill Ln.
This workday is open to the public, but registration is required.

Join York Land Trust for a volunteer clean-up event at Near Point Preserve, focusing on Route 91, where litter tends to accumulate. We’ll provide gloves and trash bags—feel free to bring your own litter pickers if you have them. Please wear sturdy shoes and weather-appropriate clothing, and don’t forget to bring water. For safety reasons, due to high traffic in the area, please leave children and pets at home.
Meet us at the Near Point Preserve parking lot, and let’s work together to keep Near Point Preserve clean and beautiful!
