Volunteer: Volunteer with the Habitat for Humanity ReStore in Portland!Opened in 2006, the Habitat for Humanity of Greater Portland ReStore is a discount retail outlet open to the public that sells donated new and gently used building materials, appliances and furniture at greatly reduced prices. All of the profits from ReStore are used to support Habitat for Humanity home building projects in the Greater Portland area. Just like our build sites, the ReStore uses volunteer hours to achieve its goals and we need your help! Ideal volunteer shifts are Wed-Saturday 8:45am-12:30 or 12:45-4:30pm once a week. CASHIERS and WAREHOUSE volunteers WANTED. Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, pick up of donations; cleaning, testing, and displaying of product; inventory and pricing; and customer service and register sales. Desirable qualifications/skills include being professional, flexible, patient, organized, self-motivated, and friendly. Construction and retail experience is helpful but not at all necessary. If interest is in donation pickup, the ability to lift 50 lbs or more is necessary.
