Volunteer: 300 Volunteer Opportunities

JA Maine is seeking over 300 volunteers this spring to deliver learning experiences in classrooms throughout Maine. Volunteer training and lesson plans are provided, and single-day or multi-week opportunities are available. As a volunteer you’ll be working with students on the fundamentals of good money management, work and career readiness, and entrepreneurship, as well as sharing professional insight to inspire and build skill sets in our state’s future workforce and leaders: students.  
 

Step 1: Choose a volunteer opportunity from  this list.

Step 2: Submit your location request via email to a program manager 

Southern Maine: reply to Jesseca, jsteele@jamaine.org.  Northern and Central Maine locations, reply to Jill, jjamison@jamaine.org. 

Step 3: If this is your first volunteer experience in the 2024-2025 school year, please fill out the Volunteer Standards Form for the area you selected.

Companies can host Job Shadow experiences or form a team to “adopt” a school and teach JA In A Day.

Junior Achievement (JA) is seeking friendly and motivated volunteers (from all occupations) to teach pre-planned courses on entrepreneurship, work readiness, and financial literacy to Maine students. Volunteers lead sessions over the course of one-day or multiple weeks and work directly with the educator to schedule the lessons. Classes are taught during school hours and all materials and training is provided. 

If you're looking for an easy and rewarding way to give back, this is the program for you! Our volunteers come from all walks of life, from senior leadership to young professionals, to retired educators - everyone has work & life experience to share! If you've experienced adult life, you are qualified and have a tremendous amount to offer Maine students.
