About the production:
"(Bar Mills, ME) The Originals present Dead Man’s Cell Phone, a comedy by Tony Award-winning playwright Sarah Ruhl.
In a world where technology is swallowing our souls and people are desperate for connection, a lonely woman, Jean, (Jennifer Porter), sits in a quiet cafe next to a man who makes no move to answer his incessantly ringing phone. In frustration, she steps in to silence the ring, and discovers that the man, Gordon (William McDonough III) is dead.
On impulse, she answers his ringing phone and is instantly pulled into the complicated relationships Gordon has left behind. Jean soon finds herself trying to tie up Gordon’s loose ends with his overbearing mother, Harriet (Claudia Schneider), his neglected wife, Hermia, (Maria Hendricks), his stoic brother, Dwight (Dana Packard), and his mysterious mistress. Before she can stop it, Jean is embroiled as well in Gordon’s shady business dealings, and realizes she may be in for far more than she bargained for.
Part oddball romantic comedy, and part mischievous morality tale, “Dead Man’s Cell Phone” explores the need for connection in our technology-obsessed world."
