The Portland Public Schools will host it's annual Back to School event on Saturday, September 14, at East End Community Center, 195 North Street, Portland. The event is for parents, caregivers and families of PPS students. PPS staff will be present, including a team of Parent Community Specialists from the Multilingual & Multicultural Center, to provide interpretation. More than 25 community organizations will be on hand to provide information about before and after school programming, athletics, and activities and will be prepared to register students. PPS registrars and staff will help families update their online documents and complete required forms.
We are seeking volunteers for one or more hour long shifts to set-up and clean-up, greet, direct, and check-in families and organizations, help with childcare and play, set-up, monitor, and keep clean a food and drink station, and more.
