School closures have impacted programs that support mentorship, early literacy, and social-emotional development. We have a fun way to support schools and education programs without leaving your home!
This year, like many events, we have gone virtual with our Read Across America event. In lieu of a one-on-one reading opportunity, we are calling on all volunteers to share their passion of reading with children in our community.
We will be hosting a volunteer reader training on Tuesday, March 2, Noon – 1:00 p.m. The training will include tips and tricks for reading to kids and for recording yourself reading.
Literacy has the power to change lives. And you have the power to help every child in Greater Portland have the chance for a brighter future.
