HOSPICE VOLUNTEER TRAINING, 20 hours - Offered each spring and fall.  Every day of life is precious. In hospice our motto is "It's about how you live" even though our clients are near the end of their lives. As a hospice volunteer you will experience first hand how we help our clients live their days as fully and comfortably as possible. You will be part of a team working to provide a family with the best quality of life possible during a difficult time. Direct Service Hospice Volunteers visit clients in their homes to provide non-medical support. Respite for caregivers and companionship for the client are the most requested types of support. Practical help with transportation, errands, dishes, laundry, walking the dog are a few of the other ways our volunteers have helped. Hospice Office Volunteers may help with clerical tasks including mailing, filing, copying, data entry, event planning.
