Volunteer: Board Treasurer

YFO is seeking a dedicated volunteer to serve as our Board Treasurer. This individual will play a key leadership role in stewarding the organization’s financial health and ensuring transparency in all financial reporting. The Treasurer works closely with the Executive Director, bookkeeper, and Finance Committee to oversee financial management and provide clear, accurate information to the full board. Responsibilities include:

Preparing and presenting the monthly Treasurer’s Report at board meetings.

Reviewing weekly cash flow reports.

Collaborating with staff to ensure accurate financial reporting and appropriate accounting practices.

Assisting with the year-end financial audit. Leading the development of the annual budget and presenting it to the board.

Chairing the Finance Committee, which serves as the liaison between the board, auditors, and other financial partners.

Monitoring the organization’s financial performance and communicating regularly with the board.

Providing guidance on the use of endowment funds and reporting on endowment performance.

Acting as a signatory on the organization’s bank account, in accordance with board policy.

Providing ad hoc financial analysis, as needed, to support decision-making.
