Who We Are
Mayo Street Arts was founded in 2009 and began programming in 2010 with The Children’s Puppet Workshop and other music and arts events.
Our neighborhood, East Bayside, is the most densely populated, ethnically diverse square mile in Maine, and home to a diverse cultural community of New Mainers, international communities, artists, and families.
MSA’s artistic focus is international music, dance, and puppet theater. We strive to build community and enrich the lives of artists, audience members, and the people in our neighborhood – of all ages and ethnicities.
What We Do
Mayo Street Arts presents international music, dance, and puppetry as well as youth programs, classes, and workshops.
In fall, winter, and spring, MSA presents weekly concerts, performances, and other artistic events with a robust international focus.
Each summer, MSA provides free children’s summer programs for neighborhood kids including a free lunch program. These programs are free by invitation and provide tutoring, arts, and literacy instruction each summer for 50-60 ELL and ESL students.
