Day One
The following major programs help us to meet our mission: OUTPATIENT ADOLESCENT & FAMILY SERVICES - services offered include substance use evaluations, individual and group counseling, family counseling, intensive outpatient counseling, outreach for homeless youth, case management for youth; CORRECTIONS - Day One provides substance use evaluations and a comprehensive array of treatment services at the Long Creek Youth Development Center and Mountain View Corrections Facility; RESIDENTIAL TREATMENT PROGRAM - a six month treatment program at three locations offering an intensive therapeutic community for up to 27 youth ages 13-20 from throughout Maine; in addition we also offer graduates of the Residential program an AFTERCARE program providing assistance and support relating to recovery issues, housing, employment and meeting day-to-day challenges of their new lifestyles; PREVENTION SERVICES - Day One's prevention programs include the NATURAL HELPERS of Maine program, which trains a network of peer listeners in several Maine high schools each year. Additional PREVENTION programs include technical assistance to community groups working to address substance use issues.
Day One improves the health of Maine by providing substance use, mental health and wellness services to youth and families. Day One's vision is that all Maine youth will have opportunities to realize their full potential to live productive, healthy and rewarding lives.
