What we're doing:   Mondays Drama - write, act, and perform in skits and plays Flash Mobbing - learn and teach dance moves, then choreograph a flashmob Green Team - research and create a worm compost bin   Tuesdays Drama - day 2 of Drama enrichment Horticulture -  learn the science of how plants grow Team Building Challenge -  learn to lead and collaborate as a group Natural Crafts -  create art and usable objects from things found outside in nature   Wednesdays LEGO Engineering - use LEGO bricks to complete the challenge of the day Creative Compositions - use your life and imagination to write stories and draw pictures for contests Design It / Build It - use your engineering skills and awesome imagination to design and build roller coasters, bridges, pinball machines, and more   Thursdays SumDog.com - a math computer game where students can play against each other and kids all over the world Music Makers - practice and play your band instruments Animals! - learn about animals by acting like one: scent trails, blubber, and more

Kid Connection Afterschool Program Kid Connection Afterschool Program provides after school academic and enrichment programming to students in 2nd through 5th grade at the Hanson and Lebanon Elementary Schools. Programming runs Monday through Thursday from 3:30 - 5:30 pm. Students are provided a daily snack plus a safe and supportive environment to complete homework and participate in hands-on enrichment activities. Primary goals of the program: Provide a safe, structured, and fun learning environment Improve student reading, writing, and math skills through hands-on, engaging academic enrichment activities Provide physical, nutritional, performing arts, and cultural educational activity options Students have “Voice and Choice” about future enrichment activities Students correctly complete homework assignments   Enrichment activities are intended to enhance school day learning through projects and games. The goal of the current Kid Connection 21st Century grant has focus on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics). The enrichment activities schedule runs weekly for each 10 week session.   Approximate Daily Schedule: 3:30 - 4:00 Snack, Recess 4:00 - 4:30 Homework 4:30 - 4:40 Group Meeting 4:45 - 5:25 Enrichment Activities 5:30 Home/Pickups
