What We Do

The Seeds of Hope Neighborhood Center is a fast-growing 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization located in Biddeford Maine and serving northern York County. With our extensive partnerships with local municipalities and service organizations, we offer a wide variety of services. The goal of our work is finding solutions to poverty and supporting our neighbors in reaching their highest levels of independence and experiencing a sense of belonging. Seeds of Hope Neighborhood Center is grounded in the principles of Mercy and Justice. Mercy calls us to provide help where needed, and Justice requires that we help work toward ending those circumstances which keep people in need. It is bringing together current activities and new initiatives to serve those on the margins in Biddeford and the surrounding communities. The Drop-In Center is open to everyone in need of a welcoming place - if they are unemployed, underemployed, homeless, or are desiring social and spiritual contact and support. The drop-in center is a place where people gather and discover options and perhaps even new skills and talents. The volunteers will offer a hospitality of presence with a cup of coffee continental breakfast & lunch, and a warm comfortable space. We serve as a resource to our neighbors (those we serve) who need a listening ear or need help in understanding how to navigate the complex health and human services arenas. The center volunteers receive regular training and support in the areas of interpersonal skills, advocacy, conflict resolution, risk management, and other relevant skills. We collaborating closely with other health and human services organizations to be sure our efforts are complimenting each other.
