Sweetser

Sweetser is a behavioral health nonprofit that provides evidence-based treatment, support and hope through a statewide network of community-based mental health, recovery, and educational services.

Working in more than 75 communities throughout Maine, Sweetser offers outpatient therapy and medication management services through a statewide network of affiliated clinicians, school-based practitioners, and office-based practices. Additionally, Sweetser maintains a school for students with special education needs at our Saco Residential Campus. We also have locations in Sanford, Lewiston, Brunswick and Belfast.  

With a history dating back to 1828, Sweetser has evolved into one of Maine’s most comprehensive mental health organizations for children, adults, and families. Sweetser offers services that address emotional issues, major mental illnesses, substance use disorders, and educational disabilities through an integrated network of care that responds to the unique strengths and needs of each child, adult, and family that seeks our help.
