We deliver our mission through immersive single-day and residential programs for elementary and middle school students; workshops and presentations in schools; professional development for teachers; community engagement events; and distributing original field and curriculum guides. By participating in hands-on, experiential programming, students learn to become environmental leaders of the future.
What We Do
The Ecology School has brought outdoor science and environmental education to more than 170,000 students and teachers since we opened in 1998, increasing our annual reach threefold from about 4,000 participants in our first year to roughly 12,000 annually today. The Ecology School inspires stewardship of and connection to the natural world through experiential learning in ecology, conservation, farming, and sustainability.
