Age-Friendly Portland/Office of Elder Affairs

Who We Are

The Age-Friendly Portland Initiative is facilitated by the Portland Office of Elder Affairs in collaboration with multiple community partners and volunteers. Our work is focused on making Portland a more welcoming, accessible and livable community for older adults.

What We Do

Age-Friendly Portland strives to create an environment where residents of the city can remain safe, active, and included in all aspects of community life as they age. Projects include a Volunteer Snow Shoveling program for older homeowners, an Age-Friendly Business certification program, and a comprehensive Senior Resource Guide to name a few.

Volunteers are needed to shovel snow for elderly Portland residents this winter. Age Friendly Portland is also looking for individuals willing to help coordinate snow shoveling volunteers in specific neighborhoods around the city.
