Howard C. Reiche Community School K-5

Reiche Community School provides a challenging curriculum for it's diverse student body. Over 22 nations are represented, with 29 languages spoken. Reiche provides a welcoming, nurturing and safe learning environment. We believe in educating the whole child by nurturing each student's social, emotional, nutritional, physical, and academic growth.

Reiche is the first teacher lead and teacher governed school in Maine. Instead of a traditional principal, Teacher Leaders, Four Committees and a Leadership Team collaborate with parents to ensure that our vision and values are reflected in our school community. We work closely with our PTO group and collaborate with a variety of educational and artistic partners such as Portland Ovations, Portland Symphony, Portland Museum of Art and several others. We offer enrichment activities both before and after school that provide additional learning opportunities for all students. We believe that we can inspire all students to love and value learning.
