Who We Are
Partners for World Health is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization which collects unused medical supplies and ships them to developing countries throughout the world. Our volunteers come from many backgrounds - we are college students, nurses, retired businessmen and women, stay-at-home moms, special needs adults, medical school students, doctors, high-school students and nursing school students, to name a few. You do NOT have to be in a medical field to volunteer, our color-coded sorting system makes the work easy for everybody!
What We Do
Partners for World Health (PWH) collects medical supplies and durable medical equipment from medical facilities and individuals in Maine, New Hampshire and Massachusetts and redistributes them to developing countries. Many medical facilities across the world lack fundamental (often life-saving) supplies, such as basic wound care materials, IV solutions, sterile syringes & needles, diabetic supplies, respiratory support systems, surgical preparations & procedure kits, blood pressure cuffs, and new baby care items. We're able to gather such items either because U.S. government regulations require medical facilities to discard them or because they are being replaced. Our efforts not only improve global health care, they help preserve the environment in our own country by keeping hundreds of thousands of pounds of "trash" out of our landfills. Partners for World Health also leads medical missions to developing countries, and we've traveled to more than twenty. Doctors, nurses, nursing students and non-medical volunteers provide health care, including surgery, at no cost to the patients in these countries, and we bring our own supplies. In addition, PWH holds hold monthly Global Health Education lectures so the community can learn about the experiences of some tremendous people dedicating their time to help those less fortunate.
