Who We Are
The Portland Public Schools are responsible for ensuring a challenging, relevant, and joyful education that empowers every learner to make a difference in the world. We build relationships among families, educators, and the community to promote the healthy development and academic achievement of every learner.
Presumpscot Elementary School is an Expeditionary Learning School and a High Performance Reward School. Our community consists of students from Pre-Kindergarten through Fifth Grade. We have a strong school culture committed to high levels of engagement and achievement through character building and learning expeditions and a dedicated staff with a high level of expertise. At Presumpscot, relationships are the foundation upon which all else is built. We begin laying this foundation when our Kindergarten teachers conduct summer home visits prior to students entering school and continues as our parents are engaged as partners in our students’ education.
