Who We Are

Its mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His name without discrimination." The Salvation Army Portland Citadel Corps opened on November 25, 1884

What We Do

The Salvation Army works each day to help those in our community in their time of need. In 2009, The Salvation Army Portland Citadel Corps provided social services to more than 3,000 households in the form of food, clothing, medical assistance, energy assistance, and transportation. During the 2010 holiday season, The Salvation Army provided assistance to more than 700 households. Each summer The Salvation Army provides nearly 150 scholarships for local kids to attend Camp Sebago for a week of summer fun. The Center for Healthy Aging provides seniors in our community with exciting activities and presentations, along with the opportunity to spend time with friends each week.
