Our goal is to reach out and uplift the human condition, and provide opportunity for individual and community involvement. Organization History & AchievementsVolunteers of America was founded in 1896 by Maud and Ballington Booth. Over the past 120 years, the organization has grown to encompass 36 affiliates serving over two million people in over 400 communities in 46 states.Volunteers of America Northern New England, the regional affiliate of the national organization, was re-organized in 1992.
