WinterKids

WinterKids is a local nonprofit based out of Westbrook, Maine. The WinterKids Passport began in 1997 as part of The Ski Maine Association. In 2000, WinterKids became an independent non-profit. We continue to develop and expand innovative health education programs for kids in the winter, and year-round. Teachers, coaches, ski areas, after-school directors, alternative educators, and families alike have described WinterKids as a unique, doable and fun program!

WinterKids helps children develop healthy lifelong habits through education and fun, outdoor winter activity.

• For Schools- We reach thousands of children by training preschool and elementary educators in outdoor education to incorporate physical activity during the school day, all while meeting education standards.
• For Families- Our WinterKids App provides Maine families membership discounts and offers on admission tickets, equipment rentals, instruction sessions, gear and tons more!
• For Communities- We host events in various Maine communities to share the fun and health benefits of being outdoors in the winter. Some events we host include Welcome to Winter, the Downhill 24 and License to Chill! Check out our online events calendar to see all of our other great events!
