Who We Are

The Adaptive Outdoor Education Center is a fully accessible facility providing low-cost, hostel style accommodations in beautiful Carrabassett Valley, Maine. Our purpose is to enhance the quality of life for all people with disabilities through adaptive outdoor recreation and education opportunities, while also being a resource for the general public.  Nestled in the Western Mountains of Maine and just minutes away from Sugarloaf Mountain, the AOEC takes advantage of its' locale to provide a myriad of exciting adventures in Maine's great outdoors!

*Programs take place throughout the state of Maine, not just Carrabassett Valley!

What We Do

We provide quality outdoor recreational and educational opportunities to all people with disabilities of all ages to improve their quality of life. Activities span the four seasons and include Alpine Skiing, Climbing, Snowshoeing, Hiking, Fishing, Biking, Sailing, Arts and Crafts and MORE!
