Vivid Motion Dance

Vivid Motion is a 501(c)(3) organization in the Portland area. Our mission is to bring the love of dance to a larger community with dances that are as entertaining to watch as they are to perform. You probably know us for the annual Nutcracker Burlesque, but we also offer family friendly shows, classes and community events that allow dancers of all ages and abilities to express their creative potential, improve their dance skill, and connect with other dancers. All while remaining financially accessible to the entire community. Local dancers who wanted to perform and share their love of dance with the community started Vivid Motion in 2003. Dance is often seen as artsy or boring, with deep meanings and a secret language. We believe that dance can be entertaining to watch, as well as to do. Our performances are filled with dances intended to entertain. And, if a little meaning seep through, that’s ok too. WE ARE COMMITTED TO making dance accessible and enjoyable for audiences who may have little or no prior interest in dance. WE STRIVE TO allow dancers of all ages and abilities to express their creative potential. WE HOPE TO make dance enjoyable for audiences to watch, and accessible for dancers to perform. We hope to take the secret language of dance (or occasionally make fun of it) and have a good time doing it.

We bring dance to Portland that is affordable and fun. We produce 3 full length dance shows each year. We hold an annual studio show for new choreographers to try out their stuff. We have pay-what-you-can classes for varying styles and levels. We hold community events for our dancers, volunteers, and audience members to enjoy. We give back by donating to other charities.
