Discover Downtown Westbrook

Discover Downtown Westbrook is a Main Street America organization that engages residents, the business community, and the municipality to create a positive downtown environment by recruiting and retaining businesses, drawing people downtown by hosting and promoting events, and making downtown a walkable, livable, thriving destination. Originally founded as Downtown Westbrook Coalition, a Maine Downtown Network community, in November 2014, the organization now engages a broad cross-section of the community to work on the revitalization of downtown Westbrook. The organization received its Main Street designation and revealed its new name in November 2017.

Discover Downtown Westbrook follows the Four-Point Approach of Design, Economic Vitality, Promotion, and Organization, with committees focused to work in these areas. These Four Points were developed to match four essential components for quality of life - economic (Economic Vitality), physical (Design), social (Promotion), and Civic (Organization). Design develops streetscape improvement and beautification projects, Economic Vitality helps businesses thrive and connect, Promotion creates a positive, engaging image of the downtown district to residents and visitors, and Organization focuses on fundraising and volunteer recruitment.
