Who We Are

Freeport Community Services (FCS) is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization that has been serving its neighbors in Freeport and Pownal since 1974. We provide essential direct services, such as emergency food, fuel, and utility assistance, and manage the Freeport Community Center.

Freeport Community Services simple beginnings back in the early 70's, located in a room above a volunteer's garage. Incorporating as a 501c3 in 1974, FCS has continued to grow to meet the needs of their community. FCS moved to Depot Street in the early 90's and recently completed the restoration of two historic 1800s E.B. Mallet, Jr. houses along with the construction of a large connected building. This beautiful and functional building, known as The Freeport Community Center, now houses many community organizations.

What We Do

Freeport Community Services is a community-run, community-based organization that coordinates programs and supplies a handful of direct services to our neighbors in the towns of Freeport and Pownal, Maine. Services include a Food Pantry with essential and emergency supplies for our neighbors who need it.
