Join United Way of Southern Maine (UWSM) to celebrate Family Day of Action on Sunday, November 21, 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. for a drive-thru diaper drive benefitting the Michael Klahr Jewish Family Services Diaper Bank.
Diaper need is a serious issue, not only throughout the US, but right here in Maine. Approximately 1 in 3 families nationwide report experiencing diaper need, yet existing safety-net programs such as SNAP and TANF do not support the purchase of diapers. Families are forced to make heart-wrenching choices between paying for rent or groceries and buying diapers.
Your donation of diapers and wipes will make a significant impact for local families and across Maine. There is a particular need for larger diaper sizes (5 & 6 preferred) as well as wipes.
