Do you want to know what it's like to volunteer at Hospice? SMAA Volunteer Services will be hosting a Virtual Volunteer Event to shine a spotlight on some of the unique volunteer opportunities at Hospice of Southern Maine. This no-pressure event is open to anyone who is interested in learning more about Hospice and the different ways that volunteers can be involved. Join us on February 27th at 12:00pm to learn more about the typical Hospice of Southern Maine volunteer experience and get all your questions answered!
Opportunities include:
- Direct Care Volunteer - Serve as a companion and provide physical/emotional support.
- Administrative Volunteer - Assist with daily clerical/office duties.
- Heart Strings Volunteers - Play music with a soothing presence.
- Reiki Volunteer - Provide energy-based healing services upon request.
- Paw Prints Volunteer - Visit patients and families with your certified therapy dog.
- Tuck-In Volunteer - Place calls during the week to identify any patient needs over the weekend.
Training and support for these roles will be provided by Hospice of Southern Maine and SMAA.
