Description

Empower youth in your community on their harm repair journey.

Repair Agreement Support Mentors provide support and accountability to youth by helping them complete their repair agreement, offering a listening ear, and developing a positive, supportive relationship.

Responsibilities include:

  • Keeps in touch with the youth once per week, for the duration of the repair process (typically 2-3 months);
  • Attends the youth's Harm Repair Circle and Closing Circle;
  • Helps the youth keep track of repair agreement items and breaks them into achievable steps; connects the youth to relevant resources;
  • Highlights and encourages the “sparks”—the things that excite, motivate, and inspire the individual youth;
  • Empowers the voice, choice, and dignity of the youth.

Support Mentors complete our foundational training series, "Foundations of Community-Based Restorative Practices," prior to volunteering.
