Historical changes to our health care system are happening this year, and we'd love your help in implementing them. Portland CHC is looking for volunteers to become Certified Application Counselors and help community members navigate the new health insurance options available under the Affordable Care Act. This is a great opportunity to work for a growing local nonprofit and to be on the "front lines" of health care reform! We'll provide you with all the training, resources, and workspace you need. And we're happy to tailor the position to your individual interests and skills. As a Certified Application Counselor, you will spend your time: 1) Tabling at local health fairs, tax prep events, etc. to provide information and answer questions about the Affordable Care Act 2) Meeting one-on-one with community members to help them apply for health insurance through HealthCare.gov 3) Helping with community outreach mailings, presentations, flyering, etc.
