Looking for an easy way to support education and behavioral health in Maine?
Volunteer with Spurwink on Sunday, September 12th at the Portland 10 Miler!

We need about 75 volunteers to help with various tasks, with shifts ranging from 5:30AM-12:30PM. Available shifts are listed in the google form above. Tasks include:
- Registration: Check runners in when they arrive and provide them with their runner packets. This volunteer can be seated or standing.
- Start Line: Cheer runners on and provide water. This volunteers position is standing.
- Finish Line: Cheer on runners, provide water and finish line medal. This volunteer must be standing.
- Water Stations: Prepare and hand-off water cups to runners while cheering them on throughout the course. This volunteer must be standing.
- Parking: Direct cars to available parking and provide instruction. This volunteer must be standing.
- Course Marshalls: stand at intersections to direct runners during the race. This volunteer must be standing.
- Pedestrian Alert: Re-direct pedestrians. This volunteer must be standing.
- Athlete Food Station: Prepare and hand-off food runners. This volunteer must be standing.
What better way to start your Sunday morning than coming down to Payson Park with some friends! Individuals and volunteer groups are welcome.

A note on COVID-19: In partnership with the event host, Gray Matter Marketing, we are following recommendations from the CDC and Maine DHS and will update policies as needed. For now, if you’re fully vaccinated you do not need to wear a mask outside. If you’re not fully vaccinated, please wear a mask while volunteering.
