Batter up! The Opportunity Alliance is in need of volunteers to assist with event operations at our upcoming Community Cares Game Day - a partnership event between TOA and the Portland Sea Dogs. This special pre-game celebration will take place prior to and during the May 13 Portland Sea Dogs home game and will highlight our community programs that serve children and families in Southern Maine!
Volunteers are needed to assist with the following duties: checking guests in at the registration table, responding to guest needs as a floater and ushering guests to their tables, assisting balloon artist and face painter at the Kids Table, assist guests at the silent auction table, and helping with event set-up and breakdown prior to and after event. Volunteers will not be asked to handle any collection of donations or counting of money raised onsite.
All volunteers should plan to arrive at Hadlock Field between 11:00am and 11:30am to check in and receive orientation. Please indicate in your response which of the above volunteer duties you would prefer to sign up for.
All volunteers that sign up will be provided tickets to stay for the game itself! TOA staff will be on-hand to direct volunteers on day-of and validate volunteer hours following the event as needed. As only ~eight volunteers will be needed for this event, volunteers will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Community Cares Game Day will take place rain or shine, so volunteers should dress appropriately for being outside. If the game is postponed due to severe weather, volunteers will be notified via phone/email in a timely fashion.
