Job description: Board of Directors Gbokpasom, which means “Helping Hand” in the Bassa language of Liberia is a grassroots US-based, 501(c)(3) non-profit organization working to empower the underprivileged children; as well as to create opportunity and promote human dignity. The organization is providing support for underprivileged and orphan children in needs and maintaining helpful long-term development programs in respond to human sufferings in Liberia. Gbokpasom-Maine is working with its local implementing partner Gbokpasom-Liberia to support underprivileged children (orphans, disabled and poor kids) that are living in deprived condition. Gbokpasom is striving to promote Early Childhood Education and Developmental Learning Programs for children ages 3-16 by creating supportable opportunities. Gbopkasom is also an implementing partner of the Ministry of Education, Liberia on Early Childhood Education and the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection, Liberia on child protection and the fight to end Sexual and Gender Based Violence against girls. Gbokpasom is seeking dedicated Board Members with public policy expertise, business expertise, knowledge of the nonprofit world, and fundraising experience. Previous Board experience is a plus but not necessary.  Volunteering as a Board Member for Gbokpasom, will help provides an exceptional opportunity to put your passion to help others into achievement by applying your experience and expertise to help advance the mission and vision of the organization's impact.
