STRIVE Rocks weekend is STRIVE's biggest fundraiser of the year. All proceeds benefit STRIVE, a non-profit based in South Portland that supports over 950 tweens, teens and young adults with developmental disabilities.
STRIVE Rocks weekend is being held March 16th and 17th at the Cross Insurance Arena in Portland. The event is split into two portions, STRIVE Rocks ALL DAY and STRIVE Rocks ALL NIGHT. There are a number of volunteer opportunities throughout the event.
STRIVE Rocks ALL DAY, Saturday, March 16th 10am-6pm: This portion of STRIVE Rocks is geared toward families and younger children. We have a number of jump houses and inflatables, musical acts, performances, arts and crafts and demonstrations. Volunteers are needed during anytime of this portion of the event. The main activities we are asking for volunteers for are: set-up (7-9ish), ticket sales/registration, performer check in, support at the "main stage", support in the "pavilion", volunteers manning each inflatable/game and support with setting up/transition to STRIVE Rocks All Night.
STRIVE Rocks ALL NIGHT, Saturday March 16th 8pm- Sunday March 17th 8am: This portion of STRIVE Rocks is geared toward young adults (high school/college students, our clients). Originally referred to as our dance marathon, participants stay on their feet for 12 hours straight, raising money for and awareness of our programs. The main activities we are asking for volunteers for are: registration (attendees, support staff), check in for performers, ushers, VIP lounge "bouncer", support at the "main stage", support setting up and serving donated food, manning inflatables/games, supporting appropriate relationships and interactions with those in attendance and support with cleaning/taking down when the event is over.
*volunteers do not need to participate for the whole 8 or 12 hour shifts. Shorter shifts are welcome. We are looking for volunteers for any parts of the event listed above.
